Tyreotoxikóza a vliv tyreoidálních hormonů na kostní tkáň

Tyreotoxikóza je časté onemocnění štítné žlázy s prevalencí 27/1000 žen a 1,6–2,3/1000 mužů. Kromě běžného vlivu na metabolizmus nemocného má nepříznivý vliv i na kvalitu kostní hmoty. Popsaný případ prezentuje vyšší riziko fraktury u pacientů s chronicky dekompenzovanou tyreotoxikózou a to zejména při kumulaci dalších rizikových faktorů.
