Orofacial pain is a widespread clinical syndrome associated with high morbidity and significant interference with the quality oflife of the affected persons. Orofacial pain can arise from different regions and etiologies. Many orofacial pain conditions haveoverlapping presentations, and diagnostic uncertainty is frequently encountered in clinical practice. Multidisciplinary approachand solid knowledge of the complex anatomy and physiology of the orofacial region is necessary. This statement focuses primarilyon painful cranial nerve lesions and some rare facial pain syndromes based on a new version International classificationof headache disorders.
