The incidence of idiopathic bowel disease (IBD) is increasing. IBDs are a high patient burden and are becoming a significant socioeconomic problem. Correct and early diagnosis is crucial for adequate treatment, which in the best case should prevent or at least minimize the risk of structural changes in the digestive tract, thus improving the outlook of patients with IBD.
