What to do when hemorrhoids are detected?

The present article provides a comprehensive review of various methods of treating hemorrhoids, ranging from outpatient care to surgical management, including the current options of stapled technique. The indications for particular procedures are discussed based on the clinical examination and "staging" of the disease. The authors aim at analyzing the individual methods of treatment and differentiating their use.

Keywords: stapled hemorrhoidopexy, hemorrhoidectomy, TST (tissue-selecting therapy), obstructive defecation syndrome, proctalgia, fecal incontinence.
