Chicken pox is a common illness especially in children. Nevertheless, roughly 10 % of adults are susceptible to this illness, not having been exposed to it in childhood. Generally chicken pox is considered mild viral disease without consequences. Patients with urolithiasis are an important part of everyday urological practice and the management of this frequent disease is also a major health, social and economic problem for both the individual and society. The authors briefly present information concerning the current options for diagnosis and treatment of urolithiasis. Its aetiopathogenesis is multifactorial with a number of risk factors – endogenous and exogenous, renal and extrarenal – being involved in the development of calculi.

Scar formation is an irreversible process. Scar can not be removed permanently, but with proper care it could be barely cosmetically noticeable. Prevention of hypertrophic and keloid scars plays an important role in the care of the scar. This article is focused primarily on the correction of scars with conservative methods.

The paper deals with our experience with the preparation of diabetic patients for endoscopic procedures. Up to 60 % of diabetics have gastrointestinal tract disease. Given their specific disease, these patients require a special approach when being prepared for all kinds of invasive procedures. The approaches mentioned in this paper, based on our many years of practice, may serve as guides for other departments concerned with the same problem.
